That is why we offer some cost-effective alternative solutions, including the a la carte options described below, making it possible for you to help the people that you can no longer employee, without raising alarm bells about finances.  

Below are descriptions of two services available for your consideration; in addition, a special discount is applied if you decide to provide both to your valued, former employee(s).

Formal Career Assessment

Help your former employees to develop clarification on their future career direction, with the Strong Interest Inventory® Career Assessment tool.  Used in conjunction with a private consultation with a qualified practitioner at CMS, it can be a powerful tool to help one confirm that career direction they are headed in is the right one for them, or to shed light on other areas of opportunity.

The Strong Interest Inventory® assessment is one of the world’s most respected and widely used career planning tools. It provides robust insights into one’s career interests. It helps one to discover potential careers that may not have been considered and provides a wealth of information about how you approach the world of work.

The Strong measures your interests in a broad range of occupations, work activities, leisure activities, and school subjects. The questionnaire compares how these interests are similar to the interests of people successfully employed in those occupations. It is used to help people understand their work interests and to illustrate the kinds of work in which they might be most satisfied.

The 20-page report is reviewed in detail with a CMS practitioner in relation to the employees existing career history and educational background with a view to determining the next, most realistic career goal providing confidence and optimism about the future. 

The Career Assessment can also be helpful when you have valued, existing employees who would be better suited to a different role or department within your organization – but you need help in determining what that role could be.

Professional Résumé Writing

Your former employee(s) will work with a CMS résumé specialist to develop a document that will present their skills and experience to potential employers and recruiters in a modern, clear and effective manner.  

In addition to the assigned résumé specialist, they will have access to our vast, online database of Résumé Examples as well as our comprehensive Résumé Writing Exercises which provides a step by step approach to the development process.

CMS résumés are developed with a marketing philosophy in mind.  They are designed to include both qualitative and quantitative skills and experiences in order to make the biggest impact and create the most opportunities for one’s job search.  At the same time, the use of specialized key words is imperative to effectively gain attention where automatic resume scanners are used. Finalized résumés can be used as a base for one’s online LinkedIn presence and CMS is happy to help develop an effective profile if required.
