Terminating experienced staff is obviously very disruptive and expensive.  Losing staff that have a long history with your organization means that you lose a lot of in-depth knowledge, and those that understand and value your corporate culture.

If you must consider letting a valued employee go due to a restructuring effort or other forces outside of your control, you may consider re-purposing that employee instead through a comprehensive career assessment and consultation.

A private and confidential third-party employee assessment with a CMS consultant can be the first step in evaluating alternative positions where he or she can continue to contribute positively to the growth of the organization – at the same time, saving costly severance fees.

Our objective is to assess core areas where the employee thinks s/he can contribute, where their interests inherently lie and to design and articulate a realistic career goal.  If this goal matches well with opportunities within the organization, and an action plan can be developed and agreed upon which satisfies the needs of both the individual and your organization the program will be deemed successful and our involvement ends there.

However, should the desired outcome prove impossible to reach and a separation is in both their interests, the employee can make a smooth transition into our outplacement service and find a position more suitable for him outside of the company.

This service can also be applied to those on PIPs – those employees who need to be re-assigned in order for them to achieve the level of success that you know they are capable of.
