Financial Counselling Support for Peace of Mind – A Key Component to CMS Outplacement
Jun 07, 2023Once the initial feelings of shock start to wane, most of the candidates who have joined the CMS outplacement program report that worries of replacing income and supporting personal finances at home become top of mind – even if provided with a substantial severance package.
That is why the provision of financial counselling support serves as one of the main pillars to our full-service outplacement program.
In addition to providing, 1. personal coaching to manage change and develop resiliency, 2. in-depth, practical career transition strategies to reduce the time between jobs, having the opportunity to, 3. work with an independent Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) ties the bow on the services we offer to your former employees.
Working with an independent CFP® professional can help to substantially reduce personal stress when between jobs.
Whether our candidates need advice on how to manage their severance packages, how to plan for retirement most effectively, how to manage their day-to-day finances while between jobs, or if they simply need a friendly voice and a second opinion on personal financial plans currently in place, our CFP® professionals are ready to help.
It is important to note that our CFP® professionals are not connected to any bank or financial institution which means their advice is impartial and truly helpful to their CMS clients. And they are available to work with our candidates in both English and French. In addition, most of our financial colleagues are happy to develop customized workshops or webinars should you have a group of employees affected by an upcoming downsizing who are interested in support in this area.
Offering unbiased, objective financial counselling to all participants of CMS’s full-service outplacement program helps to alleviate the feelings of worry and despair that most in career transition experience, and we are proud to say it’s a fundamental piece to our service.
